About
Welcome to Golden Crown Chinese Restaurant, a quaint culinary gem located at 1624 Mentor Ave, Painesville, OH 44077. Known for its comforting atmosphere and hearty portions, Golden Crown has become a beloved staple in the local dining scene. With a focus on delivering traditional Chinese flavors, the restaurant offers a varied menu that invites patrons to explore classic dishes with a twist.
Your dining experience at Golden Crown begins with visually appealing dishes that promise to excite your palate. One standout dish is the Loong fung gai, which not only impresses with its freshness and vibrant presentation but also showcases the kitchen's commitment to quality ingredients. Customers like john eee have noted the delightful flavors that make this dish a must-try.
While the pot stickers and egg rolls received mixed reviews—touted as 'average' and 'tough'—they align with a common sentiment in many Asian eateries today. It seems these familiar appetizers may lack the unique flair that makes them truly memorable. However, the generous size of the shrimp served at Golden Crown certainly earns a mention, with patrons often leaving satisfied and eager to share their experiences.
For those who prioritize flavor over ambiance, Golden Crown does not disappoint. As Jeff Murray shares, although the establishment may not be the cleanest due to its location in an older building, the food consistently delivers on taste. With affordable prices and a range of options, it's a place where regulars find comfort in favorites like Qt Shrimp Lo Mein, Qt Pork Fried Rice, and Qt Wanton Soup. A quick online coupon makes the experience even sweeter when you can enjoy all that for less than twenty bucks!
In conclusion, Golden Crown Chinese Restaurant embodies the spirit of traditional Chinese fare while welcoming locals with its reliable service and homely vibe. Whether you’re a long-time patron or a first-time visitor, prepare yourself for a dining experience filled with comforting classics and memorable flavors that keep you coming back for more.
“ Loong fung gai was outstanding in its appearance and flavor of fresness. The pot stickers were average and the egg roll was tough and tasteless but it seems to me that most are these days. I feel like they are mass produced somewhere and all the asian restaurants use the same distributor. That said I was impressed with the size of tye shrimp which is why I included a photo. ”
“ Not the cleanest looking place for sure, but it's in a really old building. The food, however, is pretty tasty. Prices and selection are pretty standard, see menu pics in my review. I've been coming here for years and have never had a problem. Order is almost always dead on (except for when you ask to have the egg roll on the side instead of squished into the rice and they routinely forget). But as for "regular" Chinese (see my review of Imperial Dragon to contrast) this is my go-to place. Qt Shrimp Lo Mein, Qt. Pork Fried Rice, Qt Wanton Soup all for $17.25 with coupon available online! ”
